ignorance exsists everywhere.

it is known tht bliss isnt always happiness.
so therefore ignorance isnt bliss, its stupidity.

being ignorant is not knowing what you dont know that you dont know. im not saying that i know it all but i am saying that i am striving to know it all.

i love wen people ask me or assume that because im an english major that im goin to be a teacher. english is one of the few degree plans that offers knowledge of every other degree possible. english touches on every subject which doesnt respect it.

i love the movie brown sugar, sanaa lathans character has a beautiful waii of relating love to hip hop. love is the most beautifl thing God ever created. love is bigger than anything else. love keeps people alive, love kills people, love makes people smile, love makes people cry, love creates beautiful things and love creates terrible destruction. love is sublime and love is grandoise while love is miniscule and irrelevant at times. love is love.

im having a moment right now. i dont really know why but i am. i just feel like i have so many emotions that i want to get out. i feel like no one truly understands exactly how i feel about everything. i feel like i can open yself up to two people but i feel like those two people can only answer me biasedly because they love me. which again says that love is so beautiful because its so powerful.

i think its the weather that makes me feel like this. every time the weather makes a drastic change my emotions change with it. the summertime and warm weather cmes along i gt happier and nicer. on the opposite hand wen it gts colder and darker i gt bitchier.

well ... im bout to watch Saw 6 and Paranormal Activity ...

well ... im just chillin. i got my midterm grades and i beasted that. i just went to the movie store with tha Nu and got 6 good as movies for $10! I love a good deal.

So i've been FEENING for a Long Island Iced Tea. If i can say that i love a certain drink, that would be it. IDK why i like it so much but it just tastes the best to me.

i cant wait til December ... so many great things happen thing.
1. Anthony and I will celebrate our 2 year anniversary!
2. I will be halfway finished with my Junior year!
3. I will be makin plans to move around and get my future started!

aniiwaii, i wnet hme todaii and went to my new church and it was quite an experience. the pastor spoke about building and maintaining a strong foundation ... it was prettii interesting.
things gt weird wen our pastor invited a guest to speak aftr the word for a quick second. this man gt up here and started speakin tht foolishness. he said (in a nutshell) tht we shud stop eating red meat, chicken, pork and fish because its unhealthy. we shud only eat grains and beans and our meals shud only cost us 50 cents a day each. tht man is trippin. i dnt know who told him tht its okaii to eat a meal tht only consited of grains and beans but who ever said it was trippn hard.

Like I'm Starting a Heading: To My Peers

Damn, it has a long time since I graced Blogspot.com with my presence but I'm back for a little while to state my piece.

I was riding in the car on the way to Cypress and a series of unusual thought hit me. Well, to be honest, Anthony and I first discussed these when we were heading out to Texarkana, but, that's neither here nor there.

The First Thought:
I had was concerning black people. I wish that I could get a transcript of the conversations that Anthony and I have and I wish that we could pass them out to the masses because I really think that more people in the world should think like we do, especially black youths. I know that sounds crazy, right? But think of what I am saying like this; Black people have allowed themselves to become assimilated by white people and other lesser races (lesser as in the amount of people they have occupying our country) since the early seventies. Its amazing because Anthony and I have both realized a tragic trend amongst our people that very few other people have taken the time out to understand.
We, as African-Americans, have stopped fighting the good fight. Everyone is so busy being a thug or a prep or whatever they choose to be that they forget that being black and being proud is what got them there. Our grandparents generation knew what the good fight was. They were the last of that breed of African Americans. They didn't accept things the way that they were, instead they took their change and kept asking for more.
We, as African-Americans, have also stopped being the noble, proud people that we use to be. I was listening to "Successfull" by Drake the other day and it tripped me out. Drake feels like 'money, cars, clothes, and hoes' are the things that define success. How many of us believe that? The vast majority. What does having three expensive cars, $250 jeans, and having a house full of hoes have to do with you being successful? Nothing. But of course, dumb asses like Drake come around and say things like that and they set the progressive black mentality back another ten years.
But the light spot in the African American community would definitely President Obama. He has given the black community some more confidence in their abilities. But he can't go it alone. Barack Obama isn't the answer to the "Oppression by White Man." Obama has limited control. He can do only so much before Congress comes in and puts the SMACKDOWN on his policies and beliefs. Its amazing that over a thousand black young adults will congregate in a steamy gymnasium to party BUT they won't congregate to support the passage of the Public Option for American Health care. That's a true shame.
My Second Thought:
Is directed towards Prairie View. I wonder sometimes how this school is still standing. I often wonder what their purpose is too. The first quip I have is with the SGA. What is the purpose of having SGA and Mr. & Mrs. PV? There isn't one. I have been at this school for 3 years and I have yet to see a NOTICEABLE change in the school that positively affects students and that is creditable to the SGA. Isn't that a shame. There is no where for students to voice their opinions. The student outside of the SGA and the Organizational Clique has no voice. It is a given fact that anything that isn't sponsored by a Greek Organization or by the SGA will not have an acceptable turnout. I just have these questions for our SGA and for our Mr. & Mrs. PV this year and of the past three years.
1. What did you do that bettered the university for the students?
2. What was your personal effort to connect with the student body and understand their concerns and their needs?
3. What was your personal gain?
4. Does your personal gain outweigh the change you have caused the university?
I doubt that these questions will ever be answered but they've been raised.
My Third Thought:
Is for the people who don't believe the following idea. Anyone who is in the Entertainment industry is being GROSSLY overpaid and being GROSSLY overpraised. I say this because people in the entertainment industry are kind of like the SGA of Prairie View (a probably other Universities). They get more than they give and they don't seem to find issue with that. Anyone who calls themselves an entertainer should not be making millions of dollars. Hell, they shouldn't even be making a million dollars. An athlete can make 2.5 million dollars for throwing a football or bouncing a basketball. They get paid whether their team loses or their team wins. But, its being proposed that teachers whose students don't pass the standardized tests get a pay cut. In some towns police officers who don't meet their ticket quota for the month get penalized. What? Like everyone (even an athlete) can look back and thank a teacher for getting them where they are. Yet, their teacher is making less money in their entire teaching career than their former student will make in a year or two. Stupid right? Its completely unacceptable for the government to say that we are in a recession and for people to be laid off of jobs because of a lack of money in the economy. Why is this unacceptable? Its because Mark Sanchez signed a 60 million dollar contract for a five year span. That's 12 million dollars a year for ONE PERSON! Some people companies don't even gross that much in year. What the fuck is up America? What are you thinking? Personally, America is full of idiots because anyone that believes that we are in a recession and that the economy is failing is just as dumb as the person that said it.
My Fourth and Final Thought:
Is directly directed at the future. But, the future of America isn't the people that are younger than both you and I. The future of America includes the people that are in college and high school right now. What are we doing to better our country? How many of us are trying to be the best middle class citizen we can be? So long has it been viewed as unacceptable to be middle class but this is the fact that has remained unopposed. Without the middle class there would be no class system and there would be no hierarchy of wealth.

This is just my personal opinion. Now, do believe I believe that I'm right. I feel that I am whole-heartily right and just. You can believe whatever you chose. But, it won't sway my opinion.
